Project Next Steps
Revisiting the Giants next steps are to be reviewed in October of 2025 due to Patrick from Art in Liverpool and my commitments to Liverpool Independents Biennial festival. We have discussed in person to both re-create an effective timeline chart to accurately plan for the growth of the project.
Patrick and I have noted that the timeline will include a critique of research materials and mock up designs to evaluate the quality of research, and to ensure that the project is well-supported, and within relevance to move onto the next stage.
I have created a simple timeline graph Revisiting the Giants 2026 for the purpose of laying out the project’s goals. The timeline will be redesigned using Merritt Polk’s table which can be found in the JournalTransdisciplinary co-production: Designing and testing a transdisciplinary research framework for societal problem solving and rewritten by Patrick and me when the project recommences in October.
In October the project will continue and have a checkpoint with re-evaluations of research materials and timeline gaols. After week 1 is complete we will move onto week 2 and create community workshops that give opportunities to working class communities in Liverpool and its Greater Areas. Patrick will supply spaces and Steven the graphic designer will design and produce promotional advertisement for the workshops- this will be achieved over a two-week period.
Week 4 will be securing artists and exhibition spaces for art shows that will be a part of the mini event at week 9. Patrick has reserved Hamilton Vault Studios in Birkenhead, The Royal Standard in Liverpool and Lush Building in Liverpool with a budget that him and his team manage. We both already have a list of artists who are interested in exhibiting in the mini event through connections and networking and week 4 will be completed within 2 weeks.
Week 6 will be securing funding and partnerships. Patrick and I have a budget granted by Art in Liverpool and with our estimation we would need funding from Liverpool City Council. We plan to propose our idea to the council at week 7 and with my connection to Sean Durney of Arts Development Officer at Liverpool City Council we can be granted an appointment quickly.
Week 8 will be opening of our workshops, and they will be run by myself and artist volunteers (who are secured at week 4). This will run into week 9 alongside the mini event. The mini event will be the exhibition art shows across Liverpool and its Greater Areas, and they will run for 3 weeks. During the openings of the workshops and mini event we will sell branded merch that has been designed by Steven Discipline. Week 11 will consist of digitally documenting the shows on social media via Art in Liverpool’s socials and website and artist Volunteers will photograph the events.
At week 14 Patrick, Steven and I will do one last critical re-examination of Revising the Giants to make sure that our project is accurate, and the materials gathered are relevant in preparation for project presentation to Culture Liverpool. Week 16 is when me, Patrick, and Steven plan to present Revisiting the Giants to Culture Liverpool and their team for project approval.
The timeline will be reevaluated and reconstructed with Patrick from Art in Liverpool to accurately set the proposal in place- with help from Patrick his connections within Liverpool’s art community will help concrete our project kick off.
